5th Grade Keyboarding Assessment

The USBE elementary keyboarding assessment is administered in the spring of 5th grade. The assessment takes 60-90 minutes per class to administer. The assessment will be administered by a 5th grade teacher, a teaching aide, or a Booster technician. Each school's Educational Technology Specialist will conduct an annual keyboarding assessment training for 5th grade teachers.

The 5th Grade Keyboarding Assessment window is scheduled for March 20-30, 2018. Keyboarding data is due no later than 5:00 pm on April 7, 2018.

Keyboarding Assessment Training
A 30-minute assessment training for 5th grade teachers will be held at each elementary school during the week of March 12, 2018. Each school's Ed Tech Specialist will schedule and conduct this training. Assessment information can also be found in the Elementary Keyboarding Instruction course in Canvas (module 10).

Keyboarding Data Submission
Keyboarding assessment results will be submitted electronically by each 5th grade teacher by logging on to dashboard.canyonsdistrict.org. Data is due by 5:00 pm on April 7, 2018. The Ed Tech Department will then compile the data and submit it to USOE for each school. See the following documentation for more information:
