Student Collaboration with Corkboard.Me

1/23/2013

Picture
Corkboard Me is a simple service for creating and sharing a wall of sticky notes.  To use Corkboard Me just visit the site then click anywhere on the virtual corkboard to start typing your notes. A URL will be assigned to your corkboard. Share that URL with anyone that you want to add notes to your wall. Corkboard Me is a free service.

This service would be a fantastic collaboration tool and discussion board to use with students.  Students could:
  • Share their ideas on a topic
  • Give information about something they learned
  • Use as an “Exit Ticket”
  • Brainstorm a topic as a group or class

Simply provide students with the unique URL for your corkboard, the topic, and begin the discussion!  Keep in mind that you should set the expectations with students prior to use of what is and is not appropriate for posting on the discussion board.  You may also want students to put names on their sticky notes for student accountability and assessment of student learning.
