Poetry and Watercolor

5/28/2012

Mrs. Brooks's 5th graders at Sunrise Elementary created podcasts to showcase the poetry and watercolor projects they have been working on. They started by studying various poems and analyzing their meanings. They practice reading the poems until they were able to read them with fluency and expression. Then each student created a watercolor painting that expressed the meaning or message of the poem they studied. They used Photo Booth on their student laptops to take photos of their watercolor artwork and pulled the photos into GarageBand where they recorded themselves reading the poem that accompanied their painting. The results of their hard work and creativity were wonderful!
