Audio Enhancement System

Picture
Canyons District is working to install Audio Enhancement systems in every classroom.  An Audio Enhancement system can really help students to engage in class.  Teachers are using microphones to make sure they are heard throughout the classroom.  Additionally students are able to be heard clearly by one another as they utilize this tool during presentations or other class participation activities.

How Should a Teacher Fully Utilize Audio Enhancement in the Classroom?

Picture
Teachers should use the microphone during all whole class instruction in addition to using the input in the Audio Enhancement box to broadcast audio from any audio media used in instruction.

Students at every ability level will benefit from having this tool in the classroom.  They can hear instruction clearly no matter their position in the room.  Principals in the Canyons School District are encouraging every teacher with access to Audio Enhancement in their room should be using it as much as possible.

Uses:

  • Helps distracted students - not just hearing impaired, CD, or ADD students - but temporarily distracted students too
  • Helps students hear the consonants against the vowels.
  • Teachers with a soft voice need them.
  • Teachers with a loud voice need them. It decreases the harsh feel of a classroom. When students preceive an environment as harsh because a teacher is "yelling" they are not able to learn as much.

Documentation:

  • You will find the manual for the Audio Enhancement system supported by our district below.
  • There is also a document with some tips for using your Audio Enhancement system with your students.
