Using Google Effectively:

Picture
Google is a great tool for teachers, or anyone else who would like to learn about something!  It is one of many search engines available today and it can be a great jumping off point to find information on a topic.  It can be challenging to cut through the irrelevant search results to find what you're looking for.  Here is a guide to help you get started and finding what you need!

Google and Canyons School District

Picture
One issue teachers can have with Google and other search engines like it is that the content is not always filtered.  Many inappropriate sites are not accessible to the students through the district firewall, but some can still find their way through.  Other issues occur with copyright and can be tackled fairly easily through the links on this page.  If you have questions about how to use Google or any other search engine to help you or your students to research please contact your Ed Tech, we'll be happy to help!
