Educational Technology Hardware Standards for Canyons School District

The current standard for classroom technology is that every teaching station be equipped with following:
  • A projector
  • A document camera, AppleTV, or similar approved technology
  • An integrated audio system
  • At least one data port
  • At least one video (typically VGA) port
Currently, the recommended purchasing priorities are as follows:

Primary

  • Every teacher has a functioning computer
  • Centralized Printing
  • Every teacher has access to a laptop computer that is less than 5 years old
  • A projector at every teaching station
  • A document camera, Apple TV, or similar approved technology at every teaching station

Secondary

  • An integrated audio system at every teaching station
  • Teacher and student iOS devices
  • Mobile or fixed computer labs
  • Student response systems
  • Individual staff printers

Tertiary

  • Interactive whiteboards and similar technologies
  • School-based curricular software
