Green Screens

Green Screens are a great way to add creativity, engagement, and differentiation to a classroom.  It gives students a way to express themselves in an exciting new way, while teachers are able to increase levels of complexity and create opportunities to reach higher levels of Depth of Knowledge.

Students can:
  • Narrate their own story
  • Act out a script they have written
  • Describe a previously taught lesson
  • Be the superhero of their own story
  • Define Vocabulary Words
  • Create inspiration for a story
  • Conduct interviews
  • Reflect on a story, math lesson, or science experiment
  • Report live "on location"
  • Become a weatherman
  • Describe a historical event
  • Critique a piece of art 
  • Become part of a science lesson by walking on the moon, petting a wild zebra, or watching a volcano explode
  • etc.

Green Screen by Do Ink

Green Screen by Do Ink has been a great app because it is easy to use and cost efficient.   The app has different tracks for the background video and green screen.  If you don't have a "green" background this app allows you to change the color 

Uses:

1. Creates a vision and excitement for lessons
2. Practice fluency in public speaking
3. Gives students an opportunity to be the main character their own story

Limitations:

1. Takes Time
2.  Requires classroom management and organization
​3. Prep work is required
